Collection Exhibition Phase I: Art and Materials - Works Viewed from Two 'Materials'

Materials refer to the things that serve as the foundation for artistic works, and even within the same field, diverse expressions can be created depending on the materials used. On the other hand, the word 'material' also has the meaning of 'subject matter.' If we can express the former materials as 'materials as physical means of expression,' then the latter can be rephrased as 'materials as subjects of expression.' This exhibition will focus on the two 'materials' of art works: the materials and the subject matter, showcasing paintings, prints, and crafts. Let's also enjoy the exhibition of newly acquired works for the fiscal year 2024.

Closed on Mondays (the following weekday if it is a holiday). Entrance is allowed until 30 minutes before closing. However, on April 26 (Saturday), May 5 (Monday, holiday), and June 8 (Sunday), the facility will be open until 19:00.
