Mitara Festival

A festival to pray for summer health
Karasaki Shrine has long been renowned as a site for purification rituals and is one of the locations for the Heian era "Shichise no Harae". It is a shrine known for its efficacy in warding off misfortune and healing illnesses (especially female ailments), famous for the toilet talisman "Chinowa Mamoru." The Mitara Festival is a festival that prays for summer health. Various religious rituals and events, including the dedication of hand-held fireworks (on the 28th at 20:00), are held. The precincts are lit brightly by many lanterns donated from local residents and various regions.
