In August 1945 (Showa 20), the Korean Peninsula, which Japan had colonized, was divided and occupied by the United States and the Soviet Union. However, many Japanese civilians were still left in those areas. This exhibition introduces the path of suffering endured by those who remained in the Korean Peninsula after the war, and the efforts of those who worked tirelessly for their return, from the perspectives of "memory" and "record."
