Making Flowing Somen with Green Bamboo from Scratch

Let's flow somen on freshly cut green bamboo.
Not widely known, but somen is a traditional food for the Tanabata festival. Using rarely used tools such as knives and chisels, both children and adults will make a long green bamboo trough together, and then it's time for the much-anticipated somen. There will be unexpected foods that will come flowing down, evoking laughter. The cut bamboo branches can be taken home as decorations for Tanabata. This project is a co-hosted event by the Earth Outdoor School and the Living Cooperative, Living Club Tokyo.
