Itakiso Shrine Kayoi Matsuri (Ring Passing)

Let's return to a pure mind and body through purification
The Kayoi Matsuri is a festival of the Itakiso Shrine, where participants transfer their sins and impurities onto a doll (hitogata), then pass through a ring made of braided rush grass. This is done to pray for a year of good health and safety. Participating in a yukata and splashing water is also a tasteful tradition.
