Approximately 500 years old, a large ginkgo designated as a natural monument of the city
At Ichiji Shrine, there are two ancient ginkgo trees that are approximately 500 years old. According to the shrine's history, they were planted by Minamoto no Yoriie of the Kamakura shogunate when he rebuilt the shrine, as a memorial. These ancient trees have been designated as a natural monument by Atsugi City (designated on November 30, 1968).
