Donyama Kannonji Temple

Donyama Kannonji Temple is a special head temple of the Koyasan Shingon sect located at an elevation of 450m. It delights visitors as the "Temple of Flowers," with blooming flowers throughout the seasons. From late April, wisteria flowers begin to bloom on the wisteria trellis in front of the main hall, along with azaleas, and during the Golden Week in early May, the beautiful景観 of flowers and fresh green momiji can be seen. There are also many wild birds, allowing for enjoyable strolls while listening to their songs. The interior of the main hall is solemn, filled with the sounds of sutras being chanted, and numerous worshippers visit.
