Doihara Association 13th 'Local History Lecture'

The one who helped Minamoto no Yoritomo to raise the banner for the pursuit of the Taira clan, which was swept away to Izu, was Doihara Masahira from the Doihara area of Sagami Province and his brothers Tohira and Masashige, along with their clansmen Nakamura, Tsuji, and Okazaki. However, they were defeated by the Oba army at the first battle at Ishibashiyama and wandered in the mountains, crossing over to the Boso Peninsula in a small boat. As they entered Kamakura, they won the battle against the Taira clan, laying the foundation for the establishment of the Kamakura shogunate. The true figure of Masahira, still full of mysteries, will be discussed in a lecture titled 'The Truth of Doihara Masahira - Viewing the Real Figure Through Records and Ancient Documents' by Kazumi Ito, President of the Miura Clan Research Association.
