Kiwa Fire Festival

The roar echoes through the mountains
An event incorporating various elements, such as the reenactment of the "Kitayama cannon" firing and unique fireworks that echo through the mountains. The main event, the "Pillar Festival," is said to have been celebrated in the Kumano River system since ancient times, where various disasters are released into the night sky with torches to pray for the safety of the log raftsmen, the harvest of grains, and successful fishing in rivers and weirs, as well as for health and longevity. Let’s all go out to this spectacular festival held once a year!
