Exhibition: Foundation of Knowledge - Building Library Collections

The contents of the collection reflect the characteristics and history of that library. Waseda University Library originated from a reading room established when the Tokyo Professional School opened in 1882, and has a history of over 140 years. Throughout this long journey, a vast number of materials have been collected, organized, and made public, shaping today's library. This exhibition introduces key materials from different eras while incorporating the background and episodes of the collections, tracing the trajectory of 'material collection'.
