Hōgenji is the family temple of the Asano clan, established by the first lord of the Miyoshi Asano han, Asano Inaba no Kami Nagaharu. It houses the hair tower of Asano Takuminokami Naganao's wife, Princess Akuri (later Yōsenin), and the hall of the righteous with wooden statues of the forty-seven samurai, having a deep connection to the Akō rōshi. The trees, adorned with autumn colors of red and yellow, rise above the stone steps, welcoming us in their autumn attire. Let's visit to see this stunning scenery available only during this season.
