Kitao Utamaro, known for his elegant depictions of women; Toshusai Sharaku, popular for his dramatic actor prints; Katsushika Hokusai, who uniquely expressed landscapes, flowers, and figures; Utagawa Hiroshige, who introduced new perspectives in ukiyo-e focusing on famous places; and Utagawa Kuniyoshi, who exhibited a strong presence with his humorous art style. Approximately 140 works, mainly from the five great ukiyo-e masters who were popular in genres such as bijinga (beautiful women), yakusha-e (actor prints), and landscape painting, will be introduced. Look forward to the competition of ukiyo-e's five major stars who colored the Edo period.
