[Sea Bathing] Shirogahama Beach

It is said that during the Amakusa-Shimabara Rebellion, the Christian army's general "Amakusa Shiro Tokisada" landed on the surrounding coast, which is how the beach got its name. The beautiful white sandy beach stretches 515m and boasts one of the best views in the prefecture with the mountains of Unzen in front. It is also one of the three selected in Amakusa for the Ministry of the Environment's "100 Best Swimming Beaches". There are two rest facilities affectionately called "Orange House," equipped with showers, toilets, changing rooms, coin lockers, drinking fountains, and walking paths.
