[Sakura - Best Viewing] Government Street (Koma-kaido)

The symbol road of Towada City, "Government Street". This 1.1 km road features 161 pine trees and 155 cherry trees lined in 4 rows. Flowing water representations inspired by Oirase Stream and Inou River are placed on both sides of the sidewalk, along with various horse sculptures, creating a scene that turns entirely pink during cherry blossom season. The contemporary art pieces that highlight the cherry blossoms are captivating. The Towada City Spring Festival will be held from 4/19 to 5/5, featuring stalls, markets, fireworks, and plenty of stage events!

The event date is an estimate of the best viewing period, which may vary due to climate and other factors. Typically from late April to early May, but blooming is expected around 4/16 in 2025. The city hall main building observation terrace will be open (9 AM to 8 PM) from 4/11 (Fri). Night sakura illumination (6 PM to 9 PM) and the operation of the sakura tourist information center (9 AM to 3 PM) will be conducted in accordance with the blooming schedule.
