During the Kamakura period, Takak信 Sasaki enshrined the ancestral deity of the Sasaki clan at Oarahi Hiko Shrine, and since then, prayers for victory in battle were offered before departure, and as a thanksgiving upon returning, 12 horses and 12 targets were dedicated before the deity. The mikoshi parade and the galloping horses shooting at the three flag targets are said to have originated from this.
