Iwaya-dera Grand Festival & Iwaya-dera Marche (May)

Traditional event held at an ancient temple in Chita
The Grand Festival of Iwaya-dera, head temple of the Owari Koyasan Sect, held on the 17th of every month. Goma ceremony at the Okunoin starting at 9:00 AM. Prayer and Dharma talk occur in the main hall around 11:00 AM. Special goshuin available only to those who participate in the flag procession from the Okunoin to the main hall. On the day, there will be vegetable and knife stalls in front of the gate. A marche will be held in the temple grounds, offering food sales and other goods for family enjoyment.
