Miyajima National Tanka Competition

Awarding works submitted from all over the country.
Many cultural figures and poets have visited Miyajima throughout its long history, leaving behind linked-verse poetry and tanka, which have nurtured the cultural heritage of Miyajima. To promote local literature in this wonderful UNESCO World Heritage site, the Miyajima National Tanka Competition is held. 31 selected pieces from works submitted nationwide will be awarded. The application deadline is August 12 (Tuesday) (postmarked on that day is acceptable).
