Kaizu Festival (Kaizu Rikishi Festival)
Kaizu Tenjin Shrine's "Rikishi Festival"
"Rikishi Festival" is also known as the Spring Grand Festival. At 1 PM on the 29th, two colorful mikoshi (portable shrines) carried by young people dressed in vibrant ceremonial sashes will start their procession (togyo) from Kaizu Tenjin Shrine, visiting various neighborhoods in Kaizu and Nishihama, and they are expected to return to Kaizu Tenjin Shrine around 8 PM. In the evening, a torch-lit procession (oneri) takes place, attracting many visitors from not only the local area but also from various regions to witness this festival.
