Yumura Onsen Festival (Big Iris Tug-of-War)

Competing with the huge irises tug-of-war weighing about 4 tons
The Yumura Onsen Festival is a celebration of gratitude to the founder of Yumura Onsen, Jikaku Daishi, and a wish for the healthy growth of children. Appropriately, along the Haruka River that flows through the center of Yumura Onsen, warrior picture banners stand, and children enjoy many stalls. The famous large tug-of-war, made by the townspeople over the course of a day before the festival, is about 100 meters long, weighs about 4 tons, and has a diameter of 50-60 cm, where local residents and tourists compete for good fortune together.
