Nantai Mountain Ascension Festival

The largest summer festival in Oku-Nikko held at Futarasan Shrine Chugushi, bustling as pilgrims worship at the ascension society rooted in the belief of Nantai Mountain for over 1200 years. The highlight is the midnight ascent starting at 12 AM, with the grounds filled with climbers aiming for the sunrise at the summit. Various divine celebrations are also held during this period.
