Horse Mackerel Festival

Located next to Shimada Underwater Aquarium, Shimada Park offers a panoramic view of Shimada Port. Here, the hydrangea festival will be held from June 1 to 30. About 3 million hydrangeas fill the vast grounds, overwhelming visitors. Continuing from last year, Shimada Underwater Aquarium will hold the 'Horse Mackerel Festival' where visitors can feed horse mackerel to the creatures of the aquarium in addition to the displays of horse mackerel.

Note

The activities will be held after the Marine Fantasy shows of the false killer whale at 9:50 and 13:30. The spot for the harbor seal Smile Ship will be held after it ends (only in the morning on weekdays). The fish backyard tour will take place on weekends and public holidays. The king penguin event will be held every day during the period at the penguin pool at 12:30. All feeding will end as soon as it runs out. Activities may change or be canceled depending on the animals' condition.
