9th Yoritomo & Masahira Lucky Departure Festival

The True Image of Kamakura Warriors: Demonstration of Sword Structure, Etiquette, and Power
845 years ago, Doi Masahira, who raised the banner to pursue the Heike, departed from here. The establishment of the Kamakura Shogunate was thanks to the efforts of the Doi family. After explanations of the structure, etiquette, use, and power of the sword as the true image of Kamakura warriors, a demonstration of sword power will be presented by the disciples of Katsutaka Hataya from the All Japan Toyama School Iaido Federation. In addition to the public performance of the 'Departure Song,' there will also be a performance of the 'Dance of Destruction.' Finally, an explanation and viewing of temple treasures and historical sites will take place. ■ Notes In addition to explanations about the sword, the power of the sword will be demonstrated by the members of the Seizan Association.
