Echigo Mishima Bamboo Lantern Road 2025
Illuminated by 25,000 bamboo lanterns
The stage is set in a picturesque area of about 800 meters along Honmachi Street in Wakino-cho, designated as one of the 'Echigo Nagaoka's 100 Scenic Views' by Niigata Prefecture. With the cooperation of Nagaoka Institute of Design, a specialized university in design, and local volunteers, lanterns made from bamboo cut from local satoyama are arranged. The historical and traditional ambiance is illuminated by approximately 25,000 faint candle lights.
