Special Exhibition "Tableware and Tools for Food"

This exhibition introduces 150 items related to "food" used from the Edo to the Meiji period from the museum's collection. In addition to luxurious lacquerware, such as tiered trays and Hidehira bowls used on special occasions, the intricate patterns of everyday tableware like printed ceramics and soba choko are also highlights. The exhibition will also feature rare sake vessels such as molds for making dry sweets like rakugan, as well as cooking utensils that have disappeared from modern kitchens such as bowls and buckets, storage jars and pots, and items like sake jugs and pourers. ■Notes An online public lecture related to the exhibition, titled "Designs of Sweet Molds," will be held on Saturday, May 17 (free participation, reservation required).

Note

Open from 1 PM to 5 PM on Tuesdays to Fridays, excluding public holidays during the exhibition period (4/29 and 5/6), and on Saturdays once a month (4/19, 5/24, 6/14). The museum will have special opening hours from 10 AM to 4 PM on 7/19 to coincide with the school's open campus.
