Special Exhibition: Bernard Buffet Museum Collection - The Solitary Painter Who Dedicated His Life to 'Lines'

The Painter of Lines, Bernard Buffet Exhibition
Bernard Buffet (1928–1999) was born in Paris and established a painting style that visualized the sense of stagnation and anxiety during the chaotic post-World War II era, quickly becoming a darling of the art world at the age of 20. This exhibition reevaluates Buffet's works, which are gaining recognition alongside those of Picasso. About 60 selected pieces, including oil paintings, prints, and materials, from the only Bernard Buffet Museum in the world (located in Nakaizu-cho, Shizuoka Prefecture) will be presented.
