Nagashi Bina of Mochigase
Wishing for good health and safety with Nagashi Bina
On the 3rd day of the 3rd month of the lunar calendar, a pair of paper hina dolls is placed on a stand, accompanied by 'hishi' rice cakes and small branches of peach to float down the Chiyo River, carrying away disasters. This is a folk event wishing for a year of happy and healthy living. Tourists can also experience hina nagashi and take part in making nagashi bina.
