The Edohigan Cherry Blossom, designated as a national natural monument in 1924, is about 1200 years old. There is a legend involving Sakamoto Tamuramaro and a daughter of the local feudal lord Kubo. Every year during the flowering period, the branches supported by poles bloom spectacularly.
