One of the oldest shopping streets in Nagoya, Endoji Shopping Street and Endoji Honmachi Shopping Street, is within walking distance from Nagoya Station. The Endoji Tanabata Festival, held at the end of July, started in 1956 and is a historical summer festival that is still passed down by the store owners of Endoji Shopping Street and Endoji Honmachi Shopping Street. The highlight is the Tanabata decorations made from bamboo by the store owners, with large decorations adorning the arcade roof to enhance the festival atmosphere.
