Hokkaido is home to various wild birds throughout the seasons. For these birds, Hokkaido is paradise. Eagles wait for spring in the harsh winter sea, the Kumataka, a symbol of the rich forest, reigns over the satoyama, and some choose to live in the rugged mountainous areas. As spring comes, they all start raising their young at once, bringing life to the forefront. No matter the season, interest in wild birds never wanes. I have been seriously engaging with these life-filled wild birds and continuing to photograph them.
