Unpenji is located at an altitude of 1000m, making it the highest of the Shikoku pilgrimage sites, situated on the border of Tokushima and Kagawa Prefectures, known as 'Shikoku Koya.' The sight of hydrangeas covering the area from the roads around Unpenji to the temple grounds and the landscape of the '500 Arhats' is breathtaking.
