Shibata Cherry Blossom Festival

The site of the residence of the Shibata clan until the Meiji Restoration, known as one of Tohoku's top cherry blossom spots. There are more than 1,300 cherry trees, and in 2023, it was selected as the only location in Miyagi Prefecture to be part of the "Sakura Famous Place 100 Selection" alongside the Shiroishi River's One Thousand Cherry Blossoms, which celebrated its 100th anniversary. The view from the summit where the Funaboko Peace Kannon statue stands is stunning. During the Cherry Blossom Festival, stage events, food stalls, and lighting are planned. ■ Notes Currently, the slope car is out of service due to a malfunction.
