Kita-Mido Bon Odori

Summer Tradition - Kita-Mido Bon Odori
The Bon Odori festival is held every year in late August at Hongan-ji Tsumura Betsuin (Kita-Mido). A yagura (a traditional drum tower) is erected in the precincts decorated with many lanterns, and the sound of the songs resonates as dancers in yukatas form a long line. The lead singer is from the Kawachiya Kikusui Maru troupe. Night stalls are also set up, making it a summer tradition that children and adults returning from work can enjoy. ■Remarks Original fans are distributed in limited quantities.
