Ebie Hikiyama Festival

A tapestry of fine arts where master craftsmen compete with their exquisite skills!
The autumn festival of Ebie Kamo Shrine, known as the "Ebie Hikiyama Festival," is a proud local tradition where master craftsmen showcase their exquisite skills through a tapestry of fine arts. This festival features hikiyama floats, famous for their karakuri dolls, including "Karako Asobi" from Higashi Town, "Karako Kendurai Kaiten" from Naka Town, and "Karakuzaru Doji" from Nishi Town. Among them, the one from Nishi Town is a masterpiece created by Japan's top doll artisan, capable of instantly transforming into the faces of karako or monkeys.
