57th Hokkai Heso Festival

As a representative summer event of Hokkaido, the "Hokkai Heso Festival" is known nationwide, and this year marks its 57th edition. The highlight is the "Hokkai Heso Dance Contest," but various other events are also planned. Participants can paint their bellies to resemble faces and dance to the Hokkai Heso Ondo with different teams. Spontaneous participation is allowed for up to 100 people on both days. It’s a festival that is great for both watching and participating, so be sure to visit!
