Iida Tokimata Lantern Floating Fireworks Festival
The festival is famous for its traditional lantern floating and fireworks.
Every year, a large number of spectators visit, making it the most bustling fireworks festival in Shimoina. The lantern floating, which is held at the same time, started in the early Showa period as a Bon spirit memorial, and it has become a summer tradition in Iida. Enjoy the brilliance of star mines and Niagara, as well as the underwater goldfish fireworks that paint the river's surface. The contrast between the lanterns flowing down the Tenryu River and the fireworks lighting up the night sky is truly vivid and captivates all who see it.
