[Cherry Blossom Blooming] Gaisen Sakura Street

"Gaisen Sakura" was planted on both sides of the highway in the post town to commemorate the victory in the Russo-Japanese War in 1906. The beautiful cherry blossom tunnel, featuring about 130 cherry trees blooming every 5.5 meters, represents the spring scenery of Shinjo Village. It is also one of the latest blooming spots in the prefecture, attracting many visitors seeking the remnants of spring. On both sides of the street, there is always a gently flowing waterway, the soft sound of which has been selected as one of the "Top 100 Soundscapes of Japan" and one of the "Top 100 Fragrant Sceneries of Japan."
