Summer Night, Evening of Prayer and Peace

On the eve of the day of the atomic bombing, we reflect on our wishes for peace
On the night before August 6, during the event "Summer Night, Evening of Prayer and Peace," candles lit from the flame taken from the Peace Flame in the Peace Memorial Park will illuminate the seven shrines lined along the Historical Walking Path in Futabanosato, Higashi Ward, to commemorate those who lost their lives in the atomic bombing and pray for world peace. This year, in addition to candles, many shrines will host musical performances and other welcoming events for visitors. A free guided tour will also be conducted by the "Futabanosato Historical Walking Path Volunteer Guide Association." ■Notes Participating shrines: Jozu Shrine, Myojo-in, Tsuruhane Shrine, Hiroshima Toshogu Shrine, Onaga Tenmangu Shrine, Kunizenji, Seiko-ji
