Picture Book Exhibition 'Elena and Daphne'

Yoshinobu Hō portrays various social issues in his picture books. His themes range from conflict and environmental issues to animal welfare. The picture book 'Elena and Daphne' tells the true story of an elephant named Elena, who became an orphan due to ivory smuggling, and her caretaker, Daphne. It conveys the existence of people who illegally trade wild animals, the animals that are hurt, and the efforts of those who try to save them.
