The national treasure 'Hatsuon no Shodō' is a ceremonial wedding decoration that epitomizes the beauty of the Edo period. It was crafted for the daughter of the third shogun, Iemitsu, Chiyo-hime, when she married into the Owari Tokugawa family, featuring a luxurious and flamboyant maki-e masterpiece that shines in gold. A total of 70 pieces, which have overcome the crisis of dispersal, are now being presented together, conveying the historical treasures of the once splendid shogun family's wedding to the present day. This is the first full exhibition in 10 years.
