The firework festival has been held annually on August 1st since 1947 to honor the victims of the Toyama air raid in August 1945 and to wish for post-war recovery. The varied fireworks brightly color the Toyama sky. Before the fireworks are launched, there is a sunset event that energizes the venue with a concert by a brass band.
