Kyozuka refers to archaeological sites where sutras were copied and buried underground. This exhibition will reorganize and introduce new insights into the Asaka Kyozuka, which was excavated by Nara University in Wakayama Prefecture in 1985. It has become clear that the Asaka Kyozuka consists of a “Kyozuka group” with 7 stone chambers and 2 one character one stone Kyozuka. Items excavated from the Asaka Kyozuka, including a "one character one stone" sutra written on a river stone, pottery fragments identified as the outer container of the Kyozuka, the "Higashi Ban system Sueki pot", and "Tokoname ware large pot" will also be exhibited.
