Kazusa Jyunisya Festival

The autumn festival of the historic 'Tamaura Shrine' in Ichinomiya
Known as the 'Kazusa Naked Festival', this festival represents Ichinomiya Town and is said to have begun in the Heian period. Among the ritual ceremonies of the Bōsō Peninsula, it boasts the oldest tradition and prestige. Carrying portable shrines from various shrines dedicated to the gods of the Tamaori-hime lineage, over 1,000 naked young men gather on the beach, racing along the shore with the vast ocean behind them, creating a spectacular sight!
