[Cherry Blossoms - Best Viewing] Daikaku-ji Temple, former Sagano Imperial Villa - Osawa Pond Area

The Daikaku-ji Temple, originally a detached palace of Emperor Saga during the Heian era. On the east side of the grounds is "Osawa Pond," Japan's oldest artificial pond and forest, where a landscape unchanged for 1200 years unfolds. Surrounding Osawa Pond, autumn leaves and cherry blossoms are planted alternately, creating a stunning reflection on the water's surface. Why not go out and enjoy this magnificent scenery that has remained unchanged since the Heian period? *No food or drink allowed in the entire grounds.
