Next Day Festival

Kamo Shrine's festival passed down for about 650 years
The "Next Day Festival" is derived from Kyoto's "Aoi Matsuri" and has been passed down for about 650 years. The highlight is the "Offering of the Umbrella Hoops" held on the 21st, where participants parade along the street in front of the shrine while pulling a large umbrella hoop, about 4 meters in diameter, adorned with five colored strips. In the evening, a Kagura performance takes place, and there is also a rice planting event, attracting many visitors. Inside the precincts of the offering shrine, "Kamo Shrine," a replica of the national important cultural property "Painted Horse Diagram" is displayed.
