The 76th Hoshikawa Lantern Floating

Pouring prayers for 80 years after the war into the lanterns
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the Kumagaya air raid that began on the eve of the end of the war. The Hoshikawa Lantern Floating ceremony, which commemorates the victims, will be held for the 76th time this year. Plans include candle monuments, pressed flower lanterns, and commemorative lanterns inscribed with the names of 266 victims. Lantern sales will start at 6 PM.
