[Autumn Leaves - Best Viewing] Hosshinmon Oji

The Nakahachi route that the emperors and nobles of the Heian period walked to visit Kumano. 'Hosshinmon Oji' is one of the particularly important Five Oji shrines, where it is said that the offspring of the gods of Kumano are enshrined. It was believed that one entered the sacred area of Kumano Hongu Taisha from here.
