The Nakahachi route that the emperors and nobles of the Heian period walked to visit Kumano. 'Hosshinmon Oji' is one of the particularly important Five Oji shrines, where it is said that the offspring of the gods of Kumano are enshrined. It was believed that one entered the sacred area of Kumano Hongu Taisha from here. Today, it is also known as a scenic spot for autumn leaves and as a starting point for a casual Kumano Ancient Road walk that even beginners can enjoy. How about forgetting the hustle and bustle of the city for a while and enjoying a stroll along the Kumano Ancient Road adorned with autumn leaves?
