The Tokyo Fuji Art Museum houses approximately 30,000 works of art spanning a wide range of periods and genres, with particular acclaim for its collection of Western paintings, covering the Italian Renaissance of the 16th century up to 20th-century modern art. This exhibition showcases 83 carefully selected pieces in two parts: the first part introduces the 'Hierarchy of Genres' in traditional Western painting, and the second part presents 20th-century modern art that goes beyond existing values to explore new horizons in painting.
