The "Okura Dam" blocks the Okura River, which flows into the Hirose River originating from the Funagata mountain range that stretches northwest of Sendai City, supplying water to Sendai citizens. Completed in 1961, it is Japan's first double-arch dam. In spring, the cherry blossoms bloom all at once, beautifully reflected on the lake surface, while the remaining snow on the Funagata mountain range presents a stunning view.
