The first lord of the Kurume Domain, Toyoshi Arima, developed the valley area spreading along the southern face of the outer circle of Kurume Castle into a town, building samurai residences in the relatively high ground surrounding it. The special exhibition held in the regular exhibition hall will showcase historical materials owned by Shinosayama Shrine, which Arima Memorial Hall has been entrusted with, and newly discovered materials related to the Kurume Domain in the Edo period. Along with the formation of the Kurume Castle town, maps of the town passed down at Shinosayama Shrine will be displayed, and an introduction will be made while comparing them with the current topography and routes.
