Tsugaru Shamisen Master Gokin Ryuji "Sound of the Wind Spirit"

At the age of 17, I wrapped my shamisen in a furoshiki and came to Tokyo from Hokkaido. The only thing my teacher taught me was one piece from the Rokudan. I didn’t even know how to match the strings or hold the bachi. I was so eager to practice that I neglected sleep, forgetting the passage of time until sunrise. Each note I created reflects my life. I say, "It is my duty to help people through Tsugaru Shamisen; there is no such thing as 'good enough,' I will continue to learn for a lifetime." Please come to the venue to hear the powerful yet delicate tone of my heart.
